Suffolk Villages bike ride was one of the best organised, signed and
marshalled I have been on this year. Congratulations to everyone
involved in giving their time in the run-up and on the day to ensure it
ran so smoothly. I was on my own doing the 100k but rode at times with
generously-spirited cyclists offering me their slip stream on some open
windy stretches! It was a stunning route through beautiful villages and
countryside with bananas and cakes just when needed. Thank you all"

With over 46,000 clubs and 1.35m members worldwide Lions International is the largest Service club organisation raising funds and providing voluntary hands-on community work on a local and global scale.
Explains Branch Secretary Marie Compain, “Our core membership was established by a social network of friends and neighbours and now we are hoping to attract active and enthusiastic members from all over Bury and the surrounding villages to join us in our efforts. Despite the challenging economic conditions, there is still a strong spirit of generosity throughout the region and we would like to thank everyone who has supported us so far.”
With a strong emphasis on fun the Lions already have a wide range of fund-raising activities planned for 2013 which are intended to continue the Lions tradition of community support and providing much needed assistance to worthy local causes.
Lions welcome members of all ages and from all walks of life. Anyone
interested in joining or helping from time to time can contact the Bury
Lions Club by completing your details on our webpage
